April Yarn Haul in 2017

Deborah Norville Collection Serenity Chunky Yarn
Loops & Threads Cozy Wool

Well, I kind of went crazy and purchased thirty-six skeins of yarn online... However, I ended up returning thirty-two of the skeins because I either didn't like the color in person or the feel of the yarn.

Long story short, I've only kept four of the skeins to use in projects I'm currently making.

I have two skeins of Loops & Threads Cozy Wool in the Sandstone Colorway and two skeins of Deborah Norville Collection Serenity Chunky Yarn in the Puppy Dog Tails colorway.

Share with me in the comments section below, which skeins of yarn you've recently added to your personal collection.

What Are You Currently Working On?

I'm currently knitting another cowl, which I am making for one of my cousins.

I'm actually using a new to me knitting pattern, Fred the Cowl, for the first time. I discovered this particular pattern on Ravelry and it's for a beginning knitter. The Fred the Cowl is ALSO downloadable for FREE.

The Fred the Cowl pattern pattern utilizes the yarn over stitch and the knit two together stitch in the same row to create several eyelets, which is pretty cool looking if you ask me!! Yarn overs are a new to me knitting stitch. I'm so glad that I am trying a new knitting technique and learning new things to help grow my knitting knowledge.

Once I'm done knitting the Fred the Cowl pattern, I'll post a picture. I plan to make one for myself eventually.

Do You Know How to Knook?

Until yesterday, I had now idea what knooking was as I'd never heard of the term before. Essentially, knooking is knitting with a specialized crochet needle. It looks pretty cool.

Watch the above YouTube video to learn how to knook.

How You Organize Your Yarn Stash?

My yarn stash is growing out of control and I need to reorganize my yarn stash asap!!

I currently keep my yarn in five separate containers that are not see through. This makes it difficult to know what I currently have on hand.

So, I now need to rethink how I am organizing my yarn stash, so I can keep track of the yarn I have on hand.

Any suggestions or ideas you may have on how I may reorganize my yarn stash would be greatly appreciated.

Here's A Guide to Knitter's Slang

More Ruffle Scarves!

Ruffle Scarf
I've crocheted two ruffle scarves in the past week using Red Heart's Boutique Sashay Yarn in the Jive Colorway.

Both ruffle scarves turned out lovely if I do say so myself!

I will be giving each scarf away as Mother's gifts. One scarf to my mother and one to my maternal grandmother next month.

What are you crocheting or knitting this month?

Full Circle Texture Knit Cowl

Full Circle Texture Knit Cowl
I finished making the Full Circle Texture Knit Cowl yesterday afternoon.

It was an easy, quick cowl to knit and I found the pattern for FREE from Michaels.

I used different super bulky yarn than called for in the pattern. Instead of using Loops and Threads Cozy Wool, I used Lion Brand's Wool Ease Thick & Quick Yarn in the Hudson Bay colorway.

I think I would change the pattern a bit though if I make it in the future... It starts you off making the stockinette stitch, which curls up and doesn't show the stockinette stitch very well initially.

So, what have you been knitting or crocheting in April?

Charismatic Knit Cowl

I've enjoyed making the Loops & Threads Charisma Charismatic Knit Cowl pattern from Michaels so much, that I've used the pattern three times using Loops & Threads Charisma Yarn in the Bright Pop colorway. I've made two of the Charismatic Knit Cowls as gifts and kept one for myself.

I'm looking forward to making more of the Charismatic Knit Cowls in other colorways to give as gifts to others.

So, what have you knitted or crocheted recently?? What are you knitting or crocheting these days?
